Yes. All Travellers Taxi Solutions vehicles carry full private hire insurance covering fare-paying passengers, including public liability. Insurance certificates are available on request.

Are your drivers background checked?

Yes. All drivers undergo enhanced disclosure background checks (PVG/DBS) as part of local authority private hire licensing. Every driver carries a photo ID badge visible during the journey.

Are the vehicles regularly inspected?

Yes. All vehicles undergo scheduled mechanical inspections as required by our local licensing authority — significantly more frequent than a standard MOT — plus daily walk-around checks by the driver.

What is your policy on lost property?

Contact us as soon as you notice something missing — the sooner we know, the more likely we are to locate the item before the driver takes another job. Found items are held at our office for up to 30 days.

How do you protect my personal data?

We handle personal data under UK GDPR. Booking data is used only to deliver your transfer and issue receipts. Full details are on our privacy policy.

Special Situations

What happens if I need to make a stop during the journey?

Short stops (5 minutes or less, on-route) at no charge. Longer stops or off-route detours are chargeable at a per-mile rate — please mention any planned stops when booking so we can quote the correct fixed price.

Can I book a taxi for someone else (a family member or guest)?

Yes. You can book on behalf of anyone — a parent, child, employee, or guest. Add the passenger's mobile number in the booking so we can send them the driver details directly.

Do you accept unaccompanied minors?

We can transport unaccompanied children aged 14 and over with prior written arrangement from a parent or guardian, including a named collection contact. We do not carry unaccompanied children under 14.

Can you help with wheelchair transfers?

For fully wheelchair-accessible vehicles please contact us before booking, as our standard fleet does not accommodate non-folding wheelchairs. We can normally source a suitable vehicle with 48 hours notice.

What if my baggage does not arrive with my flight?

If your baggage is delayed at arrivals, your driver will wait within the 45-minute free wait window at no charge. If baggage recovery pushes past that window, extended waiting time is charged in 15-minute increments.

Can I add extra stops to collect other passengers?

Yes. Multi-pickup journeys are supported — add each pickup address at booking and we will quote a single fixed price covering the full route.

Tours & Sightseeing

Do you offer private tours of Scotland?

Yes. We offer bespoke private Scotland tours including Loch Lomond, the Trossachs, Stirling Castle, Outlander filming locations, and full-day Highlands trips. Priced by vehicle and duration.

Can you combine an airport pickup with a tour on arrival day?

Yes — a popular option for cruise passengers and short-stay visitors. We pick you up at Glasgow or Edinburgh Airport, tour on the way to your hotel, and deliver you and your bags at the end. Contact us for a bespoke quote.

Do you cover Outlander filming locations?

Yes. Popular Outlander day tours include Doune Castle (Castle Leoch), Culross (Cranesmuir), Blackness Castle (Fort William), and Midhope Castle (Lallybroch). We can build a custom itinerary depending on your time.

Luggage & Baggage

How much luggage can I bring in a saloon car?

A standard saloon car comfortably fits 2 large check-in suitcases plus 2 cabin bags for up to 3 passengers. If you are travelling with more, choose an estate, MPV or 8-seater — you can select the vehicle when quoting.

What is the luggage capacity of your MPV and 8-seater vehicles?

Our MPV takes up to 6 passengers with 4–5 large cases. Our 8-seater minibus takes up to 8 passengers with 8 large check-in cases plus hand luggage. For very heavy loads (ski gear, golf clubs, extra prams) please note it in the booking so we allocate the right vehicle.

Can I bring golf clubs, skis, or a bicycle?

Yes — please note oversized items when booking so we dispatch a suitable vehicle. Golf clubs and ski bags fit in an estate or MPV. Bicycles usually require an MPV or 8-seater with the wheels removed or a boxed bike bag.

Is there a charge for extra luggage?

No — we do not charge per bag. The price is set by vehicle type. If your luggage requires a larger vehicle than a saloon, the vehicle upgrade cost is included in the quoted price.

Do you carry pushchairs and travel cots?

Yes. Folded pushchairs and travel cots travel free of charge in the boot. Please mention them when booking so we can confirm the right vehicle for your party size.

Can I transport a musical instrument?

Yes. A guitar or violin fits easily in a saloon. Cellos, double basses and larger instruments need an MPV or 8-seater — flag it at booking so we send the right vehicle.

Are there weight limits on luggage?

There is no formal weight limit but drivers may ask for help loading anything unusually heavy. Please tell us in advance about heavy trade tools, sports equipment, or removals-style loads so we plan accordingly.

What happens if I leave something in the taxi?

If you think you have left an item in the vehicle, contact us as soon as possible — details on our contact page. Drivers check the vehicle after every drop-off and lost property is logged and returned. Return delivery may incur a fare depending on distance.

Child Seats & Family Travel

Do you provide child seats?

Yes. We provide rear-facing infant seats (0–13 kg), forward-facing child seats (9–18 kg), and booster seats (15–36 kg). Please request the correct seat when booking and confirm the child's age and weight.

Is there a charge for child seats?

Child seats are provided free of charge subject to availability. Please book early — during busy holiday periods we may need to source additional seats.

Can I use my own child seat?

Yes. You are welcome to bring and fit your own car seat. All standard ISOFIX and seatbelt-mounted seats are compatible with our vehicles.

How many child seats can you fit in one vehicle?

A saloon fits up to 2 child seats in the rear. An MPV fits up to 3, and an 8-seater fits up to 4. If you are travelling with more children than adults, an MPV or 8-seater is usually the safest choice.

Do children count as full passengers?

Yes — under UK law every person in the vehicle occupies a seat, including infants in a car seat. Please include children in the passenger count so we allocate the right vehicle.

Can babies travel on an adult's lap?

No. Under UK law all children under 12 or under 135 cm must use an appropriate child restraint. Babies must travel in a rear-facing infant seat.

Are your child seats cleaned between bookings?

Yes. Every child seat is cleaned and inspected between uses. Seats are replaced regularly and never used past manufacturer expiry dates.

Can you help load a pram or pushchair?

Yes. Drivers routinely help families with folded prams, buggy boards, travel cots and car seats. Please leave 5 extra minutes at pickup if you are transferring seats between vehicles.

Flight Delays & Waiting Time

What happens if my flight is delayed?

Every arrival pickup includes free live flight tracking. If your flight is delayed we automatically reschedule the driver to match the new landing time — you do not need to call us. Full details are on our waiting time policy page.

What happens if my flight lands early?

If your flight lands early the driver is dispatched earlier automatically thanks to live flight monitoring. In most cases the driver is already in position by the time you reach arrivals.

How long will the driver wait at the airport?

On arrivals we include 45 minutes free waiting from the time your flight lands (60 minutes for long-haul flights). This covers passport control and baggage reclaim. After the free window, waiting is billed at a modest per-15-minute rate quoted at booking.

How long will the driver wait at a home or hotel pickup?

For pre-booked home, hotel and business pickups drivers wait 10 minutes free of charge from the booked pickup time. Additional waiting is billed per 15 minutes at the rate quoted in your confirmation.

What if my flight is cancelled entirely?

If your flight is cancelled contact us as soon as possible so we can rebook you for the new arrival time or cancel the transfer. Where the flight is cancelled by the airline we do not charge for the missed leg.

What if I miss my outbound flight?

If we deliver you to the airport on time and you miss your flight for a reason unrelated to the transfer, the original fare is charged as booked. If a subsequent flight is booked we can arrange a repeat transfer at short notice.

Do you monitor arrivals from every airline?

Yes. We track scheduled arrivals for all commercial airlines flying into Glasgow, Edinburgh and Prestwick, including budget carriers, charter flights and long-haul services.

What if I clear customs faster than expected?

If you clear arrivals early simply call the driver on the number in your confirmation SMS — most drivers are already in position at the airport and can meet you within minutes.

Payments, Receipts & Refunds

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept debit and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), Apple Pay, Google Pay, cash to the driver on the day, and account billing for corporate clients.

Can I pay in advance online?

Yes. You can pre-pay by card at the time of booking through our secure Stripe checkout. Pre-paying is popular with corporate travellers who want a paid receipt in advance.

Can I pay in cash?

Yes. Cash is accepted on all bookings — please have the exact amount if possible. For very large fares (over £150) we recommend paying by card.

Will I get a VAT receipt?

A full itemised receipt is emailed automatically after every journey. Travellers Taxi Solutions is VAT-registered — the receipt includes our VAT number, journey date, route and total.

Can I get a monthly invoice for my company?

Yes — this is exactly how our corporate accounts work. Book on account, ride without paying at the door, and receive a single itemised invoice at the end of the month.

How do refunds work?

Refunds for pre-paid bookings are processed to the original card within 3–5 working days. Full terms are on our cancellation policy.

Is card payment secure?

Yes. All online payments are processed by Stripe with 3D Secure authentication. We never see or store your full card details.

Do you charge a card processing fee?

No. There is no card processing surcharge — the price quoted is the price you pay whether you pay by cash, card, Apple Pay or account.

Accessibility & Special Needs

Are your vehicles wheelchair accessible?

We have wheelchair-accessible vehicles available on request — please book at least 24 hours in advance and specify your requirements so we allocate a suitable vehicle and driver.

Can you transport a folding wheelchair or mobility scooter?

Yes. Manual folding wheelchairs and lightweight mobility scooters fit in an estate or MPV. Heavier or non-folding scooters need our wheelchair-accessible vehicle — please tell us the model when booking.

Are assistance dogs welcome?

Yes — assistance dogs travel free of charge on every vehicle by law, and we welcome them without prior notice. Please still mention the dog when booking so the driver knows to expect them.

Do you accept pets in general?

Pets are allowed by prior arrangement — most drivers are pet-friendly. Please note the pet at booking so we assign a suitable driver and vehicle. Pets should travel in a carrier or on a blanket in the boot area.

Can the driver help with heavy or awkward luggage?

Yes. Drivers routinely help load and unload luggage. If you have limited mobility please mention it at booking so the driver can meet you at the door and provide extra assistance.

Do you offer non-verbal booking or SMS-only communication?

Yes. Some passengers prefer SMS-only communication with the driver — note this at booking and the driver will confirm arrival by text rather than by phone call.

Can I request a female driver?

Female drivers can be requested subject to availability. Please book as far in advance as possible so we can allocate accordingly.

Are your vehicles suitable for elderly passengers?

Yes. Our saloons and MPVs have low step-in heights, and drivers are experienced with elderly passengers, hospital transfers, and door-to-door service.
