Safety & Conduct Policy
Your safety is our highest priority. This policy explains our standards for drivers, vehicles, and the conduct expected from all passengers travelling with us.

1. Driver Licensing & Standards
Every driver working with Travellers Taxi Solutions meets strict licensing and professional standards before they are permitted to carry passengers.
- All drivers hold a valid Private Hire Vehicle (PHV) or Hackney Carriage licence issued by the relevant licensing authority in Scotland.
- All drivers have undergone an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check prior to commencing work.
- All drivers hold a valid UK driving licence appropriate to the vehicle class they operate.
- Drivers must complete an induction process and agree to the Company's conduct standards before their first booking is allocated.
- Driver licences, vehicle licences, and insurance documents are checked and renewed on a regular basis.
- Any driver whose licence is suspended, revoked, or not renewed is immediately removed from the platform.
2. Vehicle Standards
- All vehicles operating under the Company's brand must hold a valid Private Hire Vehicle (PHV) licence issued by the relevant Scottish council.
- Vehicles must pass a full vehicle inspection at least once per year, in addition to the standard annual MOT.
- Vehicles must be clean, roadworthy, and fit for purpose at all times.
- Vehicles must be covered by appropriate public hire insurance as required by UK law.
- Air conditioning, working seatbelts, and child seat anchor points must be functional in all vehicles.
- Passengers are entitled to request sight of the driver's licence and vehicle licence plate displayed inside the vehicle at any time.
3. Passenger Behaviour Rules
All passengers are expected to behave responsibly and respectfully during their journey. The following rules apply to all passengers, including children travelling with adults:
Seatbelts
All passengers must wear a seatbelt at all times while the vehicle is in motion, as required by UK law.
No Smoking or Vaping
Smoking, vaping, and the use of e-cigarettes are strictly prohibited in all vehicles at all times.
No Food or Alcohol
Consuming hot food or alcohol in the vehicle is not permitted. Soft drinks in sealed containers are permitted.
Respectful Conduct
Passengers must treat the driver with courtesy and respect. Verbal or physical abuse of any kind will not be tolerated.
No Distracting the Driver
Passengers must not engage in behaviour that distracts the driver or compromises road safety.
Door and Window Use
Passengers must not open doors or windows in a manner that creates a hazard to other road users or pedestrians.
4. Right to Refuse Service
The Company and its drivers reserve the right to refuse carriage, or to terminate a journey in progress, in the following circumstances:
- The passenger is visibly intoxicated to a degree that poses a risk to themselves, the driver, or other road users.
- The passenger is verbally or physically abusive towards the driver.
- The passenger refuses to wear a seatbelt.
- The passenger attempts to bring prohibited items or illegal substances into the vehicle.
- The passenger is behaving in a manner that is likely to cause damage to the vehicle.
- The passenger's conduct creates an unsafe environment for the journey to continue.
If a journey is terminated early due to passenger misconduct:
- — No refund will be issued for the unused portion of the journey.
- — Any cleaning or damage charges will be applied in full.
- — The Company may report the incident to the relevant authorities where appropriate.
5. Reporting Safety Concerns
If you experience or witness any behaviour that raises safety concerns during your journey, please:
- Contact the Company immediately on 0141 673 1739 or email bookings@travelerstaxi-solution.com.
- In an emergency, call 999.
- All complaints and safety reports are taken seriously and investigated promptly.
- Drivers found to have breached the Company's safety or conduct standards are suspended pending investigation and may be permanently removed.
